These are all original instrumental tunes. They were recorded at home on a basic garden-variety PC like you'd find at Best Buy. I hope you enjoy them. 

For anyone interested in home recording:

I use Sony's ACID Music Studio 7 for all my recordings and Sony's Sound Forge for some final tweaks after a tune is done.

The electric guitars and bass parts were recorded direct to the PC with a Behringer Vamp2 (except for the bass on "Soleil"--for that track I used my son's Roland Juno G keyboard).

The acoustic guitars on "Zombolero" and "Soliel" were recorded direct with the Vamp2 and simultaneously with a Zoom H2 hand-held recorder. After importing the track from the H2 I panned one track all the way to the left and the other all the way to the right, creating a nice stereo sound. I learned this technique from Recording magazine, a good source of info for home recording. For "Nanette's Lullaby" I recorded the acoustic guitar direct to the PC through an old TASCAM 414mkII Portastudio.

The drums were all created from loops by Drums on Demand which I recommend highly.

You will also hear the occasional ambient loop, probably from a Sony loop library or downloaded from Platinum Loops.

My main electric guitar is a Carvin Bolt which my son and I built from a kit. You can see it in the "I Shot the Sheriff" video on my videos page.

My acoustic guitar is a Rainsong A-WS1000, which is made completely from carbon graphite and metal--no wood whatsoever. It's black, but it's green.
